BEN & JERRY’S ANNUAL INSIDE SCOOP!
Cool News of Note About Ben & Jerry’s Fabulous 2005 Flavors
Burlington, VT, April 4, 2005 - It’s not easy being an ice cream innovator. “We start out each year with an idea bank of 150 to 200 potential new flavors, and whittle our list down to just a handful,” explains Ben & Jerry’s Conductor of Bizarre & D, Arnold Carbone. “Our new flavors just making their appearance in the supermarket right now are actually the result of a year’s worth of work!”
So just how does Ben & Jerry’s select its flavor finalists? “We pay close attention to culinary trends around the country, and conduct our own flavor tours to see which concepts are the best,” explains Carbone. “The good news is that because we’re Ben & Jerry’s, we get to think outside the box -- we even tested a Jalapeno sorbet once!” he laughs.
There’s no jalapeno on this year’s hit parade. But there is something surprisingly hot about each of the cool new winners in Ben & Jerry’s 2005 line-up. Here’s the “inside scoop” on their all-new dessert dazzlers:
Dave Matthews Band’s Magic Brownies™...Vanilla Ice Cream, Fudge Brownies & Raspberry Swirls
Fossil Fuel™...Sweet Cream Ice Cream with Chocolate Cookie Pieces, Fudge Dinosaurs & a Fudge Swirl
The Gobfather™ (The Flavor You Can’t Refuse™)...Chocolate Ice Cream with Fudge-Covered Almonds & Nougat Swirl
